Our Approach to Inclusive Learning
Individualised Education Plans
Students from the Learning Centre receive an Individualised Education Plan designed to address their specific academic and therapy goals. These plans are developed collaboratively by the special educators and therapists, while incorporating parent inputs.
Small Group Intervention
Targeted small-group sessions allow students to strengthen key academic skills such as literacy, numeracy, organisation, and study strategies. The Secondary (Grade 10) and Senior Secondary (Grade 12) NIOS curriculum is offered to students with SEN.
In-Class Collaborative Support
Students with mild learning needs in the Elementary and Middle School receive in-class support from a special educator. Our in-class support program operates on an inclusive, integrated classroom model, and the framework does not include a shadow teacher program.
Professional Team
The LC team comprises special educators, a speech language therapist, a physiotherapist and an occupational therapist. Their services are offered to students as a part of their daily school routine.
Alternative Academic Pathways
In certain cases, flexible pathways are considered to help students continue progressing in ways that match their strengths and needs.
This balanced approach allows students to receive structured academic support while remaining part of the broader classroom experience.
Outcomes for Students
Through the Learning Centre, students often demonstrate:
- Increased academic confidence
- Improved literacy and numeracy development
- Stronger emotional resilience
- Greater independence in learning
- Clear transition planning between sections
The goal is not simply support. It is empowerment. Students develop strategies that help them participate successfully in their academic environment.
